New Hire Orientation
The example orientation module, built entirely in Storyline, was intended for new hires at Florida State University’s main library—Strozier. The library has a large population of temporary, part-time undergraduate employees, but there wasn’t yet a universal module all departments could use during the onboarding of these employees. I created this as a proof-of-concept module during my time at Strozier, and it was designed as an entirely asynchronous online lesson providing an overview of the library’s internal structure and primary services. Overall, this concept project demonstrates my skills in instructional design, learner engagement, content development, and onboarding program development.

Design Highlights:
-
Interactive Elements: Information is revealed by user interactions to enhance the likelihood of consumption and retention
-
Brand Cohesion: The module uses photos and colors from the FSU brand kit to ensure the experience aligns with internal standards
-
Visual Appeal: Layouts are clean and designed with the user experience in mind, ensuring necessary information is included without overwhelming learners
-
User-Controlled Progression: The layout breaks up the information and allows learners to control the speed at which each segment is revealed to increase engagement with the material
-
Scalable Foundation: Because each department has different onboarding needs, this introductory segment is designed to branch out to more specific information
